Stress Management Tips after Quitting Smoking

Quitting smoking is one of the best things a person can do to improve their health and live a longer happier life.  There is more to quitting than merely kicking the habit.  Smoking has become a regular part of a smoker’s life and it is often used as a crutch to get through the daily ups and downs.  Dealing with and managing stress goes beyond the quit smoking process.  New healthy habits need to be developed in order to improve the quality of life that you are seeking.  These habits will increase your chances of staying smoke free after you quit smoking.

  1. Get Plenty of Rest  – Getting adequate sleep is important for maintaining good health.  Not getting the rest your body and mind require can increase the amount of stress a person is feeling and even amplify stressful events to be much more than they actually are.  Lack of sleep can make a person feel tired and irritable that makes it more difficult to properly evaluate the stressful situation and react in the best way to reduce stress.
