Smoking Causes Cardiovascular Diseases
Smoking has been linked to coronary heart disease, stroke, high
blood pressure, and congestive hart failure. The link
between smoking and cardiovascular diseases have been noted
since the first Surgeon General's Report in 1964.
Heart and blood vessels are damaged by smoking cigarettes.
The cell lining of blood vessels are damaged by tobacco use
making it difficult for oxygen to get to cells and tissues.
Smoking can increases your chances of developing blood clots.
Coronary heart disease is one of the leading causes of death in
the United States. Smoking cigarettes low in tar do not
reduce this risk. Smoking is also one of the major causes
of stroke and abdominal aortic aneurysm, a dangerous weakening
and ballooning of the major artery near the stomach.
Quit smoking to reduce your chances of
developing cardiovascular diseases!
